Your next dinner party
It's al fresco season and all we want to do is host dinner parties for friends and family. We don't think dinner parties need to be fancy, but they should be beautiful. After all, we eat first with our eyes. Here's some inspiration for your next gathering, and of course a playlist.
What's for dinner?
Serve grilled salmon or shrimp in DIY lettuce cups with all kinds of fresh fixings like dill, cilantro, snap peas, avocado, cucumbers, radishes, mint, pickled onions and chili peppers. Add a dollop of creamy tahini (we love Sunny's) and wash it down with a few bottles of Picpoul Blanc. We added a few steamed artichokes and a side of jasmine rice to round it out. A perfect hot weather dinner.
A Sweet Treat
For dessert, why don't you poach a delicious peach in some butter, honey and Lorenza Rosé? Quickly drop a peach into boiling water, then into an ice bath. The skin will easily peel off. Then in a pan, warm a generous slab of butter, a spoonful of honey and 2 cups or so of Lorenza Rosé. Add your peaches and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes, occasionally spooning the liquid over the peaches. Serve with vanilla ice cream and an edible flower!
