A Loaf of Bread and Butter

Out of time and creativity? Look for the extraordinary in the ordinary and head straight to the grocery store. Ordinary things in an uncommon volume can be so delightful. Stack soft creamery butter three high for a dramatic table statement. This can be done with raw veggies like artichokes, radicchio, citrus or opening a pomegranate just because. Stop in at the bakery to buy an armful of baguettes. Wrap the fresh bread in a bow for each of your guests as a parting gift. They'll thank you with their morning toast and tea.

If one stick of butter is good, make it three.

Rosé Bubbles for dinner? Yes please!

The meaning of life.

A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou...

A bright red wine like Cinsault pairs beautifully with butter.

And when it's all over, send your guests home with ribbon-wrapped baguette and perhaps a jar of jam.

Have fun with it!

Love, Michele

A jug of wine, a Loaf of Bread - and Thou
Beside me singing in the Wilderness.
And Oh, Wilderness were Paradise enow."
